To put it bluntly, if your brand is not active on Instagram Stories, you are really missing the mark.
Instagram Stories have become a place to connect, inspire, and yes, make sales (And a lot of them!). As Paris mentions below, Stories are now the first thing users look at when they get on the platform, so it’s extremely important that your brand not only has a presence, but one that is strategic.

“Instagram Stories are the perfect place to connect with your audience in an authentic way that will lead them to later become a converted follower. Users are conditioned to expect both personal + more “salesy” content on Stories, which makes for an ideal set up for a business. Think: an influencer sharing their OOTD, only to be followed by a slide with a link to what they’re wearing, because they know their followers are going to ask. By sharing your day to day life without trying to sell something, users are more comfortable with you, feel like they know you better, and are more willing to purchase from you when you do drop a link.”

“I love to use stories to further promote a launch! Stories are a fun way to tease something that is coming soon, provide additional information and links once the launch has happened, and also as reminders after the launch. This is a great tactic to use to not “over message” your audience or create a feed that seems to over message particular products, while still keeping your audience interested and aware. Plus, with stories being the first thing that many users go to when they login, it’s a great way to make sure users know what is going on with your brand even if they missed your feed post!”

“Brands can leverage story content by providing sneak peeks and exclusives, such as upcoming products, exclusive access to new releases, or behind-the-scenes glimpses of the creative process to generate excitement and anticipation. I would even take it a step further by including the link button with an engaging CTA, or special offer encouraging viewers to sign up whether that be “early access” or a “special offer!”

“Stories are a fun way to keep the audience engaged with what’s going on within the company. This is a great way to give a behind-the-scenes view of the brand, tease product launches, new posts, and increase engagement. Stories are also a great way to showcase brand personality, by both providing an inside look into the day-to-day of the company, and/or including fun elements, such as gifs & stickers. Last, Stories allow the audience to easily interact with the brand and in return, the brand can get a better understanding of their audience and their likes.”

“Incorporating storytelling into your social media strategy can be incredibly powerful. Consistency is key in maintaining engagement and building a loyal community. By regularly sharing Stories that resonate with your audience, you establish a strong connection and keep them coming back for more. Over time, this consistency strengthens your brand identity and keeps your audience engaged!”
