We’re back with another edition of social media marketing updates! This month we are seeing new activity from Instagram, LinkedIn, and Meta; each allowing brands to reach their audiences in new, effective ways.
Let’s get into them!
Carousel Post Reels
One of the standout updates this month comes from Instagram. As TikTok continues to be a digital marketing trendsetter, Instagram is following their lead as they test into allowing carousels to be posted as Reels. If the update is widely rolled out, it would provide a fresh way to showcase content to followers that would allow more posts to be considered “video” content on the Reels feed.
Meta Creator Marketplace
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, continues to prioritize creator-centric initiatives, including the launch of the Meta Creator Marketplace. Originally launched with access to only US-based brands and creators in 2022, the Creator Marketplace allows brands to connect with relevant influencers to pitch collaborations on the platform. This has now been rolled out to several additional countries allowing global brands to tap into a new pool of talent and reach new customers all over the world!
LinkedIn Business-to-Consumer Opportunities
Recognizing the platform’s untapped potential for business-to-consumer (B2C) engagement, LinkedIn has rolled out enhanced features and ad targeting options tailored to consumer-facing brands. Newly released research results that indicate users on the platform are more likely than the average total population to spend on non-essential products and experiences. This research points to new opportunities for B2C companies to take advantage of marketing on this platform to reach a new audience of potential customers that were once only targeted for B2B business.
Game Live Streams on Instagram
In an effort to capture the attention of gaming enthusiasts and capitalize on the booming gaming industry, Instagram is testing a new option that allows creators to play interactive games with their audience during live streams. Games including “This or That” and “Trivia” will allow creators to spark further engagement that can create a stronger sense of community and the potential to reach a larger audience of users.
